Christopher Bettig

Christopher Bettig is a French / American artist who graduated with honors from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a degree in painting. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York City & San Francisco as well as in group exhibitions world wide in such galleries as: Analogue Books, Four X Four Gallery, Giant Robot, Here Gallery & New Image Art Gallery. Several international publications have also featured his work, such as: Juxtapoz Magazine, The New York Times & Oyster Magazine. Chris founded The Mountain Label in 2004, which is his illustration / design studio where he handles a wide range of projects for a diverse clientele including: Blood Is The New Black, Bodega, Carhartt Europe & Japan, Circa, Converse, Fila, Graniph, Keds, M-Edge, Nike, Poketo, Puma, The Standard, Threadless, 2K by Gingham, Urban Outfitters, Vannen etc.

While all this was going on, Chris also spent his 9 to 5's developing interiors, displays & fixtures for Urban Outfitters in North America. He became strictly a freelance artist / designer / illustrator in the summer of 2007 and is represented by McDermott Management. Now he also oversees elements of design at Google and seems to spend a good amount of time writing about himself in the third person.
